Let's see what Vint Cerf, one of the “fathers of the internet” says about the internet. It's not relevant to the majority of us to know about the Internet. Just give it a try, it's simple to understand.

In the early 1970s, Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn were working on a design, now we call the Internet. It was a result of the other experiment “ARPANET”.

ARPANET, in full Advanced Research Projects Agency Network, experimental computer network that was the forerunner of the Internet.

Paul Baran was trying to build How to build a communication system, that might actually survive a nuclear attack. Then he built a Distributed Packet Switched Network. It was a mesh network. Then this network is widely spread in the nation and it worked successfully.

Internet is a global network of computers connected to each other which communicate through a standardized set of protocols.

Is anybody in charge of the Internet? Internet is made up of largely independent operated networks. Also, it’s a fully distributed system, not centrally controlled. So no one person or organization is really in charge of it. Data transfer through the internet is in the form of Binary information. Internet is not in clouds guys, sorry for that. It is basically a network of computers that are interconnected using Wires, Cables, and Wi-Fi.
